Feeling lost or overwhelmed about care planning for your love one?

Find answers below to some common care planning questions or reach out to us for help.

  • Medicare is federal health insurance for individuals over 65 years of age, regardless of income. Medicaid is a state and federal program for individuals that have a minimal monthly income and may financially qualify for coverage on some services.

  • There are several different types of rehab available, each option should be considered based on the facilities reputation, amenities, cost and staffing. “Short-term rehab” is typically available to individuals who have been hospitalized and are in need of physical or occupational therapy prior to returning to their home.

  • Long-term care insurance is a policy that was purchased (usually earlier in life) by the senior themselves. Each policy has different coverage but it can cover some of the costs of long-term care, in-home care or memory care. It requires lots of documentation both from the facility providing the care and the senior.
